Emily found this old bookshelf that I made back in woodworking in middle school. She thought it was a bed and then a couch.
One day we went to a Christmas party for my dad's side of the family, held at the church. I hadn't seen some of my cousins for several years, so it was great to see them.
The kids getting ready for a game.
Afterwards we went to see my grandma. She is 94 years old and doesn't really know who any of us are, but she was happy to see us.
Derek, Samuel and Grandma. (Poor Tansy stayed home cuz she was sick.)
Fun dancing and playing with cousins.
Dressing up.
Emily's pirate face.
We went to Olivia's birthday party. This cute girl is now 6 years old!
We went swimming at the Y and the kids loved it. Emily and Megan floated all over by themselves in their life jackets.
The week went by way too quickly and before we knew it it was time to head home. The ride home was uneventful (thank goodness). We arrived home to find this awesome gift that Santa had left. It needed two people to put it together. Darrell and I started around 6:15 p.m. We had to undo a few things, but eventually we got it. We did take a break so Darrell could bathe the kids while I ran to the grocery store. We finished at 10:15 p.m. We let the kids stay up because they were soooooo excited for it. We let them play with it for a few minutes before sending the very tired kids to bed.
The kids got to play with the furniture while we finished assembling the doll house.
The kids have had SO much fun playing with the dollhouse. I love that they can play with it from any direction. That way all three kids have a place to play without (too much) fighting.
We ended the holiday season by celebrating on New Year's Eve. We watched the movie Brave and then had chips and sparkling white grape juice to celebrate. We welcomed in the New Year with blowers around 9:00 p.m.
