January 9-The carpet is in and the shower wall in the upstairs bathroom is fixed. Also, we have garage doors.
I finished another puzzle that the kids gave me for Christmas.
We had our house walk-through on Wednesday, January 13 and then closed on Friday, January 15. We received this text to let us know we could move in!

The same day we were able to move in was also the day of my first COVID-19 vaccine for the school district. The line was SO long and the kids weren't happy to have to wait in the van for an hour while they waited. Oh well, at least it wasn't a super cold day!

We loaded things up from the apartment and then ate at Five Guys Burgers and Fries for dinner before heading back to the apartment for one last night.
The next day the piano movers moved the piano and then members from our "old" ward helped load the big things into the U-Haul. (I didn't get any pictures of those wonderful helpers.) We also moved some things over from the storage unit.

We didn't have time to set beds up so our first night in our house looked like this:
The next few days we assembled and assembled and assembled. I'm so grateful for good helpers.

Until our new table arrived, we used our portable one for meals (which actually seemed spacious compared to the square card table we'd been using in the apartment)

We still had some things in the storage unit so we rented a U Haul the weekend after we moved to finish up.

For some reason I didn't get a picture of our "basement furniture" after it got delivedered and set up, but here is what it looks like (picture of the display on the day we purchased it at Ashley Home Furniture).
We were grateful we still had our apartment because the first couple of days in our new house the hot water didn't work. We had to go to the apartment to get showers. We also still had a few things over there to move. I had the move-out walk through at the end of the month. We were so glad to finally be in our house, but the apartment really was good to us. We had lots of great memories there, even if it was "squishy."
