June 2023-Part 1

We ended the 2023-2024 school year.

Emily (and Piggy) gave me a Smartie and a cute note for my last day.

I was surprised to pull into my driveway the last day of school to see that some of my students had "heart attacked" my door with post-it notes.  I especially loved the "number notes" note.  (That is the pre-writing we taught the students for their essays.)

We went to Krispie Kreme to get a free donut for National Donut Day.

We had the opportunity to be part of the traveling Old Testament Tabernacle.  Megan, Tyler and Emily all had a chance to be at a station and share a part of the presentation.  It was pretty cool.

Since the girls' birthday was on Sunday, we celebrated on Saturday.  Megan chose to go to Cane's for lunch.

Then we went to Rush Funplex afterwards, also chosen by Megan.

Emily and Megan turned 13 years old on June 4.

Emily made this cute clue for Megan's gift from her. The high-lighted letters spelled out: lotion.

We invited Derek's family over for their birthday day.  (Tansy was sick, but everyone else came.)

The kids had fun hiding in the collection of Squishmallows.

We did hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner.

Both girls wanted Costco cakes for their birthday.  (We had A LOT of cake!)

Tyler went to FSY (For the Strength of Youth) with Alex from our ward.  Emily wrote on his packed bag.

Tyler and Alex wnt to FSY at Snow College in Ephraim, UT.  They had a great time (but someone broke into their 2nd story apartment from the balcony and stole some money from one of their roommates.)

Emily, Megan and I went to see the traveling Tabernacle.

The other part of Emily's birthday activities that she wanted to do was painting ceramics at Color Me Mine.

Megan painted a dragon, Emily did a gnome and I painted a dish to hold my earrings.

A few days later we picked them up after they were "fired."

We went to our mortgage company's client apprecation party.

The girls loved the face painting and balloon making.

The girls wanted to go to the local regional park.

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows outside.
