(Hot) summer fun with Grandma and Brenda

We loved having Brenda and Carol visit us from California for the girls' baptism.  We were able to do some fun things.

One day we went for a drive up in the mountains.  We went to Silver Lake.  We had a picnic and then walked around the lake.

The kids hiked a little bit up the mountain and found a "hide out."

We drove up over the pass that leads into Park City.  It was a wonderful view.

My family and Brenda and Carol were staying at the same hotel, so the kids were able to meet up with cousins to swim.

After the girls' baptisms we went to Antelope Island.

It was SOOOOO hot and the sand burned our feet as we walked out to the Great Salt Lake.

There were these crazy flies everywhere.  It's kind of hard to see them, but they covered our shoes.

We drove to the other side of the island to see the buffalo.

We had some down time on Sunday before they left for puzzles and a walk to the park.

The kids were so sad to see Brenda and Carol go.  We LOVED having them visit.

Megan and Emily got in the back of their rental car and buckled themselves in.

Last-minute hugs

Megan and Emily's baptism

Emily and Megan chose to become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  They were baptized on July 7, 2018.

They each chose beautiful dresses to fit their own style. Emily is on the left and Megan is on the right.

The kids and I got up super early to head to Provo for some fun 4th of July fun.

We loved watching the hot air balloons.

We went to the parade.  They had a "pre-parade dance off" and Megan was awarded a gift card for a free ice-cream cone from the BYU Creamery.
