Disneyland Day #3

Our final day at Disneyland was actually at California Adventure.  We got there before the park opened and had a strategy in place to see the most we could throughout the day.  We were pleasantly surprised to find the park wasn't very busy at all and we were able to get into see some things right away and use our Fast Passes more often than normal.  Plus, the weather was cooler.  It was perfect!

Here we go!

Monsters, Inc. (Sulley)

We had a Fast Pass to go see Elsa, but there wasn't a line, so they let us go in early and Elsa could spend lots of time with the kids since there weren't many people behind us.

Probably the kids' favorite character to meet was Olaf.

He couldn't sign his name (because he hasn't learned how to write according to the Disneyland photographers/helper people) so he drew a picture.

Love these pics!

The kids wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel (Mickey's Fun Wheel), but I don't think the realized how scary it would be to sit in one of the moving cars.

The girls were TERRIFIED and had to come sit by me and hold on to me VERY tightly.  They did smile for this selfie.

Tyler toughed it out by himself across the way.

Silly Symphony Swings

The girls weren't tall enough to go on the swings by themselves, so I had take turns going with them.  (And then we heard the whining about how it WASN'T FAIR that Tyler got to go 2 times and they couldn't.  Yep, life's not fair!)

Emily and me (She got an owie on her eye from falling out of bed and hitting her head on the night stand.)

Next we headed to Cars Land.  It was THE BEST!  We loved it and Radiator Springs looked just like it does in the the cartoon.

We got breakfast at Flo's V8 Café.

Some of us wanted the waffles, bacon and fruit.

And some wanted scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and fruit.

Everything was del-LISH!

More sights from Radiator Springs

We were able to go on the ride twice with Fast Passes because there weren't many people there.

Megan was a little afraid. (She's ducking down between Carol and Darrell.)

Seeing "Red" as he was heading to the Cozy Cone Motel.

Here comes Lightning McQueen

Tyler was too tired to stand in line to see Lightning McQueen so he missed out.

A random picture documenting the sinks that were just the right size for kids.

We went to the "Frozen" Sing along.  It was fun to watch a retelling and sing along to the music.  (I didn't get a good picture, but Emily missed the whole sing along by sleeping through the whole thing.  She is my napper, that's for sure.)

We were also able to see "Aladdin," the musical.

We brought our  lunch and kept it in a locker near the Disneyland entrance and enjoyed a little down time.

We headed over by Cars Land to watch the Pixar Play Parade.

Darrell, Megan, Tyler, Debbie, Emily and Carol.

The "Pre Parade" (Inside Out) before the Pixar Play Parade

They had some kids come up and learn a dance before the parade.  Tyler (grey shirt and blue and white shorts) and Megan (pink skirt) went up to learn it.

We were able to go on "Soarin' Over California" two times.  The kids LOVED it and said it was one of their favorites.

We went to get cones at the "Cozy Cone Motel," but they were SO soft and melting fast that they made the biggest, drippiest, stickiest mess.  (Later we saw they had started to put the cones in a cup.  Um, yeah, that would have been a better plan for us.)

We had Fast Passes to get seats to World of Color.  They weren't spectacular, but still pretty good.

The kids didn't want any t-shirts for souvenirs.  Instead they wanted Disney stuffed animals, and boy, did we get stuffed animals!  The kids each got 3, Darrell got 1 and our Christmas souvenir makes a total of 11.

What a wonderful vacation we had in California.  We loved being with Carol and having her be able to come to Disneyland with us for each day.  It was such a great, great time!

The stuffed animals getting some lovin' at the airport on the way home.
