4th of July

After 2 fun days of Disneyland, we took 2 days off to rest.

We were able to participate in the annual neighborhood 4th of July Kids Parade.

We decided to head to the beach that afternoon.  The beaches were SO crowded for the 4th of July, so we found this little place.  It was still beachy, but pretty muddy.  It didn't matter to the kids (or Darrell.)  They had a blast.

We went to visit Darrell's grandma Nellie at the care center.  Here the kids are giving her the notes/card they made for her for her birthday.



Nellie is hard of hearing, so we write notes to her on the whiteboard to communicate.  Emily drew this sweet message for Grandma Nellie.  It's a picture of the 2 of them.

On Sunday we were able to visit Grandpa.  The kids loved helping to put the flowers in the vase.
