Swimming lessons in Montana 2019

The kids spent 2 weeks in  Montana while Emily and Megan did swimming lessons.  I was able to work in my classroom and get my school library in order for the first week they were gone.  Then I joined them for the final week.

As always we had such a great time.

Emily is the only one who wanted to go to the local splash park.

We drove to "Ringing Rocks."  If you tap certain rocks with a hammer, they will ring in different tones.  It was fun to climb them and to make music too.

Fourth of July 2019

The kids and I headed to Provo for their Freedom Festival for the second year in a row.  We left our house at 5:00 a.m. to get there.  It was a little chilly when we first got there.

Patriotic breakfast on the go.

We watched the progression of the Smokey the Bear balloon.

Checking out the balloons

Unfortunately the winds were too dangerous up in the sky, even though it wasn't windy at all on the ground.  We were disappointed we couldn't watch them fly this year.

Then we walked over to the parade route and enjoyed that.

We went to the Scera Park to do some of the colonial activities.

Our picnic lunch

We stopped by Krispy Kreme for donuts

Burgers on the grill and curly fries--we ate inside because it was chilly and rainy, kinda weird for a 4th of July

We did our own fireworks.

We just watched the big fireworks display from our yard.  The kids got in the "fort" to see it.
