Our school choir, the Neil Armstrong Academy Rocketeers-had a chance to perform for the Ganite School Board meeting.  We did a Disney medley with songs that had "silly words" like Hakuna Matata, Bibbidd Bobbidi Boo, etc.  A few days later the principal called me in to say that someone had called the Equitable Education office at the district to complain about us singing the song "Zip a Dee Do Dah" because of its racial undertones.  Seriously?!?!? Anyway, I rearranged the song to take that out for the concert, but I was still seriously bugged!!

My students at school were so cute to do a "surprise" party for my birthday.  They wouldn't let me in the classroom during my lunch time.  After lunch Joe (a student in the class whose birthday is the same day as mine) and I were allowed to come into the room.  They created a walkway for us where we walked through and then they "crowned" me.

For my birthday we went to a yummy little local Mexican restaurant.

The night of our school choir concert was also Pack Meeting.  We had to race from the concert over to the church because it was a big night for "my" Webelos.  I had been their leader for over a year and had worked super hard to have these boys, including Tyler, receive their Webelos badges and their Arrow of Light badges.

We went to Menchies for a post-Rocketeers concert and Pack Meeting treat.  It was so nice that my parents were able to attend both things.

The girls rarely dress alike, but they were twinning this day.

Darrell's sister was pretty sick, so Emily made a note to send to her:  "Get Better Brenda.  I love you so much From Emily"



The fifth grade went to the Utah State Capitol Building for a field trip. 



It's been special to have Tyler in my class this year.
