Watching General Conference and playing Bingo with Jelly Bellies
Tyler needed to go to a religious/sacred place for another one of his Scout requirements so we went to Temple Square so he could take pictures and later make a collage.

After being gone over Easter weekend the last 2 years, we were able to make it to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt this year.

Darrell started a new job and we sent him off with a little Dunkin' Donuts celebration (Darrell calls the kids "Cutie 1," "Cutie 2" and Cutie 3" so they signed Cutie after their names.
The school choir, the Rocketeers, performed a concert for parents and another for the school. I directed the choir and Tyler was a member this year (after 3 years of attending rehearsals with me). We sang songs from Broadway musicals and it turned out really well.
My parents came down for the concert. (They're amazing that way). They treated us to Menchie's afterwards.
The only picture I got of Tyler that night since I was thinking of a million other things.

After Menchie's my parents came over to our house for a little bit before they headed back to their hotel. The kids loved being with them and playing some piano pieces with them.

Emily got a few bags of jacks from her weekly Kidz Kamp reward and we all had to play.
Megan's bed frame broke. I don't think it was because of rough play--it just broke one day. Maybe it has to do with the oval knot in the wood by it.
I went through at weird vertigo "episode" that lasted for several days. I got really dizzy one Friday at school and it got worse throughout the day. I picked up the kids from their weekly Kidz Kamp visit at the fitness center and thanked my lucky stars I didn't have an accident on the way home from how yucky and out-of-it I felt. I went to bed and the kids had to get their own dinner (Lunchables) that night. When I woke up the next day I still didn't feel well so I went to InstaCare. The doctor said it was probably floating "crystals" in my ear fluid that made me dizzy. She gave me prescriptions for vertigo medicine. I was still dizzy on Saturday and Sunday and I tried to go to school on Monday, but I drove a little ways down the road and realized I wasn't a.) going to make it driving to school and b.) going to be an effective teacher. A friend came and took the kids to school and I started doing sub plans. I think the vertigo medicine, more than anything, really made me loopy and that is not a good condition to be in. I texted my mom that I was sick and she said she could come down to help out. (My parents had JUST been here 4 days earlier for the Rocketeers concert.) Emily wasn't feeling well either, so both she and I stayed home from school on Tuesday. Mom took me to an appointment at the Hearing and Balance Center and the doctor did a lot of tests. She said I did NOT have the floating crystal condition, but that most likely I had vestibular neuritis resulting from a viral inner ear infection that I somehow randomly picked up somewhere. She said it's a heat-seeking virus and the inner ear is warm. She said by the time I noticed the effects, the virus had already done it's damage. It damaged my balance organs, but not my hearing organs, thank goodness. She said my body would eventually adjust to "a new normal." And that was true. I was a little dizzy and "off balance" for a few days, but now I'm back to "normal." (The doctor said if I didn't "get better" within 4-6 weeks, then I could go back in for "balance therapy." Thank goodness I didn't need that.)
After my hearing/balance appointment, I decided to take Emily into Instacare. She hadn't been feeling well and was having problems breathing. They gave her a breathing treatment and gave us a prescription for an inhaler. I will have to get her tested for asthma in the summer.

My mom stayed one more day and took care of Emily and attacked my "To Do" List (she really is a saint) while I headed back to school. It was nice to get an enthusiastic reception for my students when I returned.
Tyler has been doing Jump Rope Club this year and had his end-of-year performance during an assembly at school. It just so happened to work out that I had planning time during that time and was able to attend. (He's the one in the blue jacket)
Soccer started in April and all three kids participated. (I will have to post a picture Tyler next month.)

We ended April making a trip to Build-A-Bear for the annual "I-will-use-my-birthday-money-towards-a-new-Build-A-Bear-type-animal/character." Megan got a grey pony, Tyler a Star Wars bear dressed in a Jedi outfit, and Emily a Poppy Trolls doll.

On Sunday the kids had "Build-A-Bear Club." You can see our growing collection on the floor and table. (Heaven help us and our stuffed animal/character obsession!)
