Fall Break

We were able to visit my parents for fall break. 

The kids were able to make Nutter Butter ghosts.

Reminiscent of the basketball game between Kyle and Tyler, the boys decided to have a 2-player football game.  Aubrey was Tyler's coach and she even drew up some plays.

The game ended in a tie.  Nathaniel joined the boys later for a little scrimmaging.

Emily was so excited that she had dug down all the way to the bottom of the sandbox.  (Not sure how she knew she was "at the bottom" since there was still more san/dirt to be seen,)



One afternoon we hiked up the hill that Greg and Brooke own.  It's pretty steep, but good exercise.



We made it to the top.





We hiked down a little ways to a cave on the side of the mountain.  It's a dead-end cave, but the kids had fun going to it.  My mom helped them climb down.

I had lots of good helpers cutting out school stuff and helping get the flags ready for our Hope of America program.



We had such a great time.  It was a nice, relaxing break.

October

October started out by watching General Conference.  Here are the kids listening and coloring Sunday morning. 



We took a drive between sessions up into the mountains to see the fall colors.  A lot of the leaves had already fallen off, but we did see a few colors.



Almost every Saturday Tyler will watch a little college football on TV and then dress in his uniform and go out and play football.  He's usually a one-man game, but this day he was able to play with Darrell too.



Emily got out her beanie, scarf and goggles to be just like Snoopy.



Our school had a STEM fest.  There were bounce houses and games which the kids loved.  The only picture I got was of our "Waffle Love" waffles from the food trucks.



The kids went to a neighborhood Halloween breakfast party and had so much fun.  Megan was Jasmine, Tyler was Kylo Ren and Emily was Belle.

Tyler got this sock puppet from the party and I helped him get it assembled by manning the hot glue gun.

Megan made me some yummy fish sticks out of Play Doh.



We had a church dinner and carnival.  The Cub Scouts were in charge of the games.  Tyler helped out at "Pin the nose on the pumpkin."  He really enjoyed helping out.  Megan is playing the game here.

We carved pumpkins the Saturday before Halloween.  The kids helped way more than they have in the past and that was nice.  I still had to do some cutting and a lot of scraping, but not as much as in years past.

I was thinking I was going to miss my kids at the school Halloween Parade until I remembered that each class parades through all of the other classrooms, so I WAS able to see them as they paraded through my classroom.
