Emily, Megan and Tyler for Grandparents Day...sending long-distant love.
Megan, Emily and Tyler with the giant bears they bought at Costco. (Thanks, Carol, for the money!)
The kids got free tickets to the State Fair for reading books in the summer. They loved the little farm again this year. They "milked a cow," gathered crops and tried out the "tractors."

With a real bull at the State Fair.
Emily with her new umbrella and her new Halloween costume--Rapunzel.
My parents were able to spend a little time with us. They attended the kids' soccer game.
Megan, Emily and Tyler with Grandpa and Grandma
My dad helped Tyler with his Scout Space Derby rocket.

The kids loved swimming at my parents' hotel. (Emily, Megan and Tyler)
The next day Grandma and Grandpa attended the kids' Primary program. (Megan, Grandpa, Tyler, Grandma and Emily)
Enjoying some warm weather at lunch during a fall break.
This is how I spent my fall break--using a vegetable peeler to take off the wood from Tyler's Space Derby rocket. Tyler's Pinewood Derby car came in last on every race, so I read up on the "secrets" of having a successful rocket--the less wood, the better.
The kids know that one of my favorite things about fall is crunching leaves. So they collected a bunch for me so I could step on them. So sweet!
Tyler and his rocket for the Cub Scout Space Derby.
He ended up getting 2nd place overall--a much better experience than the Pinewood Derby.
Getting his cheer.
I loved his sweet note to me. (We keep a notebook where we write back and forth to each other.)
Darrell, Tyler, my parents and I were able to attend the Saturday morning session of General Conference. So cool!
