More Fun with Grandma

Here are a few of the other things we did while visiting Darrell's mom.

We celebrated Nellie's 94th birthday with her at the care center.  The whole family was together for the special occasion.

Opening cards

Party hats for everyone

All of the grandkids (David, Matt, Jeff, Tyler, Emily and Megan)

We were able to feed the ducks one afternoon and the kids loved it.

A family picture after church

After church we went out to the cemetery to "visit" Darrell's dad.

Cozy quarters while traveling

The kids had a blast making these huge bubbles.  Tyler could make them all by himself, but Grandma had to help Megan and Emily

And the kids never tire from going to the park.  Darrell even got in on the fun.

Here we are heading home.  We LOVE the new Long Beach Airport.

(Although, Emily didn't love being in time out.)

Giving "Pink Teddy" and "Puppy" a ride.

We always love visiting Darrell's mom, and I'm so grateful the kids get to know their grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins and great grandma.

The Aquarium and the Beach

One day while we were in California we went the aquarium.  The fish and ocean life were so awesome!

The kids loved touching the jelly fish.  They wouldn't allow flash photography so this is kind of a funky picture.

We ate lunch outside.  The kids had fun running along the outside fountains.

Afterwards we went to the beach.  The kids did NOT want to leave.  They had such a great time!

The 4th of July

We went to visit Darrell's mom, his sister and her family the first part of July.

Excited kids on the shuttle from the parking lot to the airport.

I love that we were there over the 4th of July.  We were able to participate in the  annual neighborhood 4th of July kids parade.

Lining up (Notice the flag and speaker contraption in the forefront of the picture.  I think it lead the parade blaring patriotic music.)

Walking in the parade.

The parade route was a few blocks long and ended at a city councilperson's house where there was donuts, juice and milk provided for everyone.

After the parade we went back to the house and the kids got to open some new toys to play with at Grandma's house.

Enjoying lunch out on the patio.  Megan (yes, we have a nail biter on our hands), Tyler and Emily

Brenda, Steve, David and Matt came over for dinner.  The kids loved playing with them.

Poor Matt didn't know what hit him!  The kids had a blast playing with him.
