Eww! Seriously?

It all began this morning when Emily found this in her bib:

a hard day-old macaroni and cheese noodle.

She tried eating it but it slipped out of her hands. She was one disappointed and frustrated girl.

So I got out the whole bowl of "soft" day-old mac and cheese to appease her.

It just so happens that all 3 kiddos thought that cold, day-old mac and cheese was WAY better than their original breakfast: baby oatmeal and peaches for the girls and Shredded Wheat bites for Tyler. The girls even turned up their noses at the homemade bread (OK--bread maker bread) and homemade strawberry jam (OK--again made in the bread maker, but still...). Sigh!

Good Morning!

I love when I go into Megan and Emily's room in the morning and see 2 happy girls standing up in their cribs. It is one fabulous way to start a day!

(The blue paint will soon be pink. Yay!)

Two New Videos

Emily totally figured out how to play with Tyler's track.

Tulip Festival

A couple weeks ago we went to the local Tulip Festival with my friend and her son. It was a little chilly at first, but the flowers were beautiful and it was SO nice to get out of the house (spring and summer can NOT come fast enough for this stir crazy momma!) Plus it was nice to talk to my friend Linde about our crazy lives as moms. We were both full-time educators before we became full-time moms and although we wouldn't want it any other way, life with "wee ones" has its own challenges.

Here are the girls all bundled up (and Tyler who did NOT want to turn around and be in the picture.)

Hey, look! Another picture where Tyler did NOT want to be in the picture.

Tyler LOVES pushing the stroller by himself, and luckily it keeps him busy and occupied while I'm pushing the girls in their stroller. Here he is pushing his friend in the stroller.

The girls on our stop for lunch. I get the BMA (Bad Mom Award) for not getting Emily out of the sun. She had a pretty bright sunburn on her face and I felt SO bad.

I love these pictures of the girls by the waterfalls.

A Happy Birthday

Tyler had a great birthday (even though he was pretty oblivious to what birthdays are all about.)

We had him open a couple of presents in the morning before Darrell went to work and then he opened the rest before we served cake and ice cream.

He loved, loved, LOVED getting Lightning McQueen and Mater. He played with them while he watched Disney's Cars (his very favorite movie right now.)

Dunking on his new basketball hoop.

Tyler also got 2 other Matchbox cars: a pickup truck and a dump truck.

Drumming away. (Maybe he'll take after his cousin Jeff.)

We went out to eat at Wendy's so Tyler could get his "burger and choc-y milk." I forgot to take the camera (I know, I thought it was always attached to me too) so I didn't get any pictures, but the girls LOVED their first taste of hamburgers and Frosties.

After last year's disaster with my attempt to make a cut-up cake, I was pleasantly surprised that this car cake turned out so cute.

Happy Birthday Tyler!

One very blessed boy (minus the keys we bought him (but couldn't find for the picture) so that he won't be so fascinated with Darrell's church keys--yeah, we'll see if that works!)

Happy 3rd Birthday Tyler!

I can't believe this sweet little boy is now 3 years old!

We sure do love him so much!

Easter

Darrell's parents were able to spend a few days visiting us last week, and we LOVED having them here.

It worked out that my parents were in town to attend my cousin's wedding, so both sets of grandparents were together. That was way awesome! We went out to eat at the Olive Garden.

Megan is chillin' at the O.G. (as Darrell calls the Olive Garden.)

I love this picture of the girls and their namesakes:
Megan Carol and Emily Janeen

On Saturday Tyler and I went to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. It was a little chilly, but fun.

Later that night we dyed Easter eggs.

It's fun to have girls so I can dress them up and make them all "girly." I love this shot of Megan and Emily.

Tyler wouldn't look at the camera, or smile, or cooperate, so here is the best we could do.

A picture with Grandma and Grandpa

The Easter Bunny found us later that evening. The kids scored some awesome things (and Darrell and I scored their candy!)

Three generations (nice cheesy smile, Darrell!)

Being with family really is what it's all about.
