A Wonderful Weekend (Times 2)

This past weekend Darrell and Tyler had the chance to go visit Darrell's parents, so the girls and I took the opportunity to go visit my parents. A great time was had by all, just miles apart in 2 different states.

(Thanks to Darrell's mom, Carol, for these pictures.)

Carol and Tyler had a great time eating breakfast each morning while Daddy and Grandpa slept in.

Tyler taking the newspaper to Grandpa.

Tyler was right at home with...(what else)...cars.

Celebrating Darrell's birthday.

Checking out the drummers at the Farmer's Market. (Tyler would prefer to push the stroller than ride in it.)

Tyler was a little timid to be around the animals at the petting zoo.

Riding the train.

Visiting Aunt Brenda, Uncle Steve and the "girl cousins."

Tyler was so sad to leave. He had such a great time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Meanwhile, the girls and I had our own "adventures."

We have been trying to get our long-term food storage. Well, between my parents, my sister and I, we had 200 lbs. of powdered milk that needed to be canned in #10 cans so that it will last a long, long time. (Cuz we hope we don't HAVE to use it for a long, long time. Hee! Hee!) So we set up a borrowed canner in the garage and went to work. It really wasn't that bad--just a little powdery and sticky.

The rest of the weekend we had a great time hanging out with cousins and watching General Conference.

My grandpa and uncle came up on Sunday.

As with all fun times, the time went by WAY too fast. Before we knew it, it was time to head home. The girls didn't feel very well part of the weekend. Here is my dad with 2 sick girls and their bottles right before we headed home.

(Upon final observation, it appears not many pictures got taken of "the women folk." Hmm.)

I finally got the hint from Katie about two years ago, but it is just not a guy thing. Not that we do not want to take pictures, but we just don't think about it. I have to really try hard to remember to take the camera when we go to places.
