We tried out Popeyes.  It was a lovely evening to sit outside and the food was yummy.



Emily dressed up like Darrell.  She made a tie, put on her messenger bag/purse and got a newspaper. We had to send a text to Darrell.



One of the kids checked out a book from the library that had a recipe for fruit shish-ka-bobs so we made some one day.  De-lish!  (Emily, Megan, Tyler)

I pulled out my karaoke machine and the kids took turns singing with the mics.

This was a typical sight out of the kitchen window in October.  Tyler spent hours throwing the football against the side of the house and catching it.  He even wore the grass down from being in the same spot for so long.





Tyler has had a crush on a girl in the school choir since last year.  Her name is McKenna and she is in 5th grade.  He wrote her this letter and I was afraid he would actually follow through with giving it to her, but he didn't.  I found it in his backpack and just put it out in recycling.

Tyler decided he didn't want to be Iron Man for Halloween.  (We bought the costume at Costco back in August).  So he had to help pay for some of this football costume.  It's for the Baltimore Ravens.   A while back he got 2 NFL football figures in McDonalds Happy Meals.  One was from the Baltimore Ravens and one was for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so now he likes those teams.

We had some beautiful weather in October and took advantage of it by heading to the park.

Tyler lost his first top tooth.

The girls had a Wednesday off for parent teacher conferences so we headed to the library for story time.  They made a bat Halloween craft. (Megan and Emily)



We went on a family hike in the canyon behind the Draper Temple.  It was a drizzly day, but we still headed out and had a good time. (Emily, Megan, Tyler)

I include this picture to prove that my girls choose their own clothes every day.  No, they usually don't match, but it's not worth the fight.



A few years back, the doorknob went through the wall in Tyler's room.  Darrell did his best to patch it up, but it never got finished.  Fast forward a few years and the doorknob went through the patch.



I decided to tackle it and found this solution.  I just bought the cover at the hardware store, painted it to match the wall and stuck it on.  I like that it turned out fairly well.

The girls pulled out all of their BYU stuff one day had a BYU store.

Another day Emily a lemonade stand. 



She used the box that held the candy cane props for the school choir to hold the "lemonade" and made an "umbrella" for the stand.
