Thanksgiving 2018

This is what we did

We went to California for Thanksgiving.

We drove down Rodeo Drive



We drove to Griffith Observatory.  We had to hike a ways up from an extra parking, but the view was worth it.







We found the Los Angeles Temple.



A kind sister missionary knew the perfect place to get our picture. (Emily, Carol, Megan, me, Tyler and Darrell)



Inside the Visitor Center



They had the visitor center decorated so they could start off the Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving.



We topped off the night with dinner at In 'n' Out



The next day was Thanksgiving.  I offered to make homemade rolls.  I was trying to speed up the baking so Carol could have the oven, so I put both pans in the oven at the same time.  I switched the pans from one rack to another part way through the baking, but the bottom pan was too close to the gas fire.  Burned rolls!!!



I salvaged what I could by cutting off the burnt bottoms.




We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Steve and Brenda's house.

The next day we went to El Dorado Nature Center.

Matt works there and it was fun to have him show us some things.  He pointed out an osprey up in a tree and let us use his binoculars to see it better. We watched it swoop down and catch a fish in the water and then return to eat it in the tree.  It was so cool!





We loved being with family in sunny California for Thanksgiving.
