I only made up 1/2 a batch of cookies cuz they're a lot of work (but oh so yummy--see recipe below.) After all that work neither Emily or Megan wanted to eat the cookies--they just wanted to eat the sprinkles off of them. Silly girls!
Tyler had his school Valentine's party today. He took "Cars" Valentines with pencils and suckers. He is going through a "phase," I guess, because lately he hasn't wanted to go to preschool. (I have to literally pick him up after he gets out of the van and take him in.) But then he comes out all smiles and has had a fabulous time every day. Well, today he was super excited to go to school and take his Valentine's. Would you believe that today he didn't want to come home with me? This time I had to chase him, catch him and literally pick him up and take him out to the van. I didn't get a picture of his stash of Valentine's. Although he did like the candy, his favorite things are the 3 pencils he scored. Here's what he took to give out.
Sugar Cookie Recipe (from my Grandma L.)
4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 C. margarine
1 heaping C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. soda
1/3 C. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and shortening as for pie. In another bowl, add soda to sugar and mix well. Add beaten eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour into flour mixture and mix until smooth. Roll out on floured counter and cut. Bake in 375 degree oven for 8 minutes.
Frosting
4 Tbsp. margarine
4 Tbsp. milk
powdered sugar
vanilla.
Blend with mixer. Add enough powdered sugar and vanilla to set up and taste.

Looks fun! We made cookies too...Jacob loved cutting them out, but wasn't as jazzed about frosting them. :) Glad you had a fun day!
Are Valentines the same as always? You buy a box of them and give them out to everyone and they give you one? Do they still do that in elementary schools as well?
