The girls wanted to do something special to celebrate the 4th of July.  We were bummed that we weren't able to do the normal 4th of July activities, so the girls came up with the idea of a neighborhood kid parade.  They organized it and made up invitations to pass out.

The parade.  The kids threw out salt water taffy, but unfortunately Emily's bag got caught in her bike and it ripped and dropped all of her candy on the street.

July brought so much packing!

And lots of trips to the climate-controlled storage unit. It took some heavenly inspiration to find a way to store our bikes up and out of the way and leave enough space for all of the other things.

We closed on the sale of our house on July 10.  Our realtor gave us this cute basket.

We had piano movers come that day and move our piano into the apartment.

 

Then we were up bright and early the next day to move almost everything else to the apartment.  I don't have many pictures of that whole process, but we were so grateful for those who came to help us move on the hottest day of the year up until then.

As luck would have it, our apartment is right by the "people elevator," but at the exact opposite side of the freight elevator.  We had to move our big heavy items down 2 very long halls.

We were able to drop off some of our smaller items in the parking garage and then transport them up the people elevator.

So. much. organizing that needed to happen at the apartment.

The girls took over our "linen closet" until I made them put the items back in the doll house.

 

We officially were out of our house July 14.  I left a little welcome home balloon and some "bubbly" for the new owners (as well as keys, touch up paint, mauals, etc.)

 

One of the perks of the apartment was the "Aqua Lounge" aka pool. We could reserve times for 1 hour 45 minutes, but because of COVID, we never could invite friends over to swim.

The promenade across from the apartment complex normally is a little splash park, but not during COVID, so the kids used it for scooter riding.

We loved having the "Little Leos" visit us soon after we moved into the apartment.

 

The girls were happy to get an American Girl picnic set from the Little Leos.

We got a little stir crazy being stuck in a tiny apartment, so thankfully we were able to use our Get Out Pass to literally "get out."

One place we went to was "Sea Quest."

 

 

 

We also went to Fat Cats to do glow-in-the dark miniature golfing.

Tyler was lucky enough to start Phase 2 of orthodontia.

We hiked up to a nearby waterfall.

 

We ordered new masks from my friend Jennifer.
