Christmas Break 2022

During Christmas break the kids and I went to the Grand America Hotel and looked at their window displays.

Then we went to City Creek. We saw the fountain, went in a few of the stores and checked out the candy displays at Macys.

The Salt Lake Temple under so much scaffolding.

Then we went to the Giving Machine and bought $15 hygiene products, $10 pajamas and $25 polio vaccines.

Derek and Tansy and their family came up on "Christmas Adam" (December 23) to give us presents and hang out a little bit.

We had our traditional sleepover by the Christmas tree.

On Christmas Eve we decorated half of a batch of sugar cookies.  While we like the decorating of sugar cookies, we don't necessarily love eating them-especially with so many other good things around.

We also decorated our ginger bread houses that didn't stay together too well. Sigh!

Our Christmas Eve dinner-ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, Rodes rolls, red and green jello with whipped cream and "chocolate lasagna" for dessert.

We acted out the nativity.  Darrell and I were Joseph and Mary (and they tried to make Kitty be Baby Jesus, but she wasn't having any of that), so a puppy took the place of Jesus.  Megan was an angel, Tyler was a shepherd and Emily was "wisepeople."

We opened up our Christmas jammies.  This is the first year we all got matching pajamas and a matching blanket for Kitty.

Our stocking display this year

Setting the cookies, carrots and milk out for Santa and the reindeer.

Santa's goodies for Tyler

and for Emily and Megan.

Come on out!

Seeing what they got

We had our traditional monkey bread for breakfast.

Then it was time to open presents.

Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, so we went to a very short church service and then came home and enjoyed Christmas.
