San Franscisco Day 1

June 4 found us up very, very early (4:30 a.m.) to head to the airport for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to Northern California with everyone on my side of the family.

Heading to the airport 2 hours away.  The girls were in their jammies still since we just pulled them out of bed right before we left.

Emily and Megan were as big as anyone else.

Darrell and Tyler looking for the airplane.  (The beautiful mountains near Bozeman, MT are in the background.)

The kids did really well on the flight.  Because it was the girls' 2nd birthday that day, we had to buy tickets for them too.  They enjoyed moving around the airplane and visiting everyone.

We arrived in Oakland, CA to cool, rainy weather and met Derek, Tansy and little Samuel at a Wendy's by the airport.

Darrell did a great job parking the rental van in the tight space at the hotel parking garage.

The hotel was near Fisherman's Wharf so walked down there.

Dinner--a fish sandwich for Darrell, clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl for me and chicken and fries for the kids

Mom, Dad, Tansy, Samuel, Emily and Megan went back to the hotel and the rest of us went on a cable car ride.

Aubrey, Kyle and Olivia waiting in line for the cable car.

It was a cool evening so Tyler, Darrell, Kimberly, Aubrey, Olivia and I rode inside. The others ventured outside.

We got off at the top of Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world)

Walking down the steep sidewalk.

(A big THANK YOU shout out to Brooke for letting me use her pictures too.)
