Mid May Excitement

May brought some exciting things for the girls.

They were SO excited for the end-of-year preschool bounce house party.  (Megan kept asking almost every day from the beginning of May if it was the bounce house party yet.  "Oooohhhh, it's taking FOREVER!")

Tyler even got to go down a few times when he came with me to pick the girls up.



That evening was the girls' dance recital.  My parents came down for it.

Megan and Emily (Emily didn't want her hair curled, so she got a "criss cross" ponytail, while Megan LOVED her curls.)

Here's the video of their dance.  I was hoping they would dance next to each other, but they didn't so some of the time you can see Megan dance (first girl on the left) and some of the time you can see Emily dance (She's more to the right of the stage and is to the right of the girl with the really long ponytail.)



After the recital the girls FINALLY got to open up early birthday presents from my parents.  (Another thing (waiting for their birthday) that Megan swore was taking FOREVER.)  The got new tutu skirts and shirts.



Then we went to Yogurtland.



The next morning my mom and dad helped clear out the dead stumps from our nectarine tree and a peach tree that died over the winter.  (Sniff!)  Then they helped remove the cement and brick curbing from around the flower bed/tree area and helped smooth it out the dirt so we can put down sod.

It will be so nice to NOT have this much dirt for the kids to play in.  Bring on the sod!

 

Tyler was at kindergarten, but Emily and Megan helped a little where they could.  They enjoyed the wheelbarrow rides.

 That afternoon the kids went swimming at my parents' hotel.



The girls' preschool program was that evening.  They wore their new tutu skirts and shirts.

Megan was totally into every song and aspect of the program.



Emily on the other hand, must have been SUPER tired.  She kind of sat there in a daze, but at least she didn't "pull a Tyler" at his first preschool program.



 Both girls did great on their memorized parts.

 The next day my parents came to the first part of the school choir practice so they could see what I've been up to before they had to head back north.  We're so grateful  they can make quick trips down to see these special occasions.
