Happy Birthday Tyler!

Tyler's 7th birthday was a busy, busy day.

Tyler figured out that several of his presents were Legos because he kept shaking his presents.  I thought I'd throw him for a loop and wrapped up this little box that sent him to look under his bed for...Legos.  (It says, "Surprise!  Your present isn't here.  Go look under your bed!"



It was the first day of soccer games.  Emily and Megan are on a team  of 3-4 year olds and Tyler is on a team of 7-9 year olds.  The two teams played at the same time that day, so Darrell went to Tyler's game while I went to the girls' and then we switched.

After lunch we went to Build a Bear. All of the kids used birthday from my parents to get a Build a Bear, even though the girls' birthday isn't until June.  (It was better to let them get them all at the same time, rather than listen to whining about not being able to get one.)

The final products.  Tyler got Rafael, the Ninja turtle with his weapon thingies.  Megan got Princess Celestia and a cape, necklace and crown for her.  Emily got Olaf and a Hawaiian shirt and hat for him.





Then we headed to a junior high school in Cottonwood Heights for the kids' Up With Kids performance of "Frostbite."  (More about that in another post.)

Tyler wanted to go "Old McDonald's" for dinner.



They had a hoop at the playland that Tyler thought was pretty cool.  (He's all dressed in black because that's what he wore underneath his "Frostbite" costumes.)



On the way home we drove by the school and took a picture of Tyler's name on the marquee. 



We came home for birthday cake.  Tyler wanted Ninja Turtle faces like he did last year.

One lucky birthday boy.

Tyler is such a great kid!  He is a great big brother (most of the time) and all three of the kids get along pretty well (again, most of the time.)  Tyler has learned so much this year at school.  It always surprises me a little when he comes up and reads something I'm typing on the computer.  He is a happy kid with a great smile and we're so glad he's in our family.
