Family reunion 2019

We had "my side of the family's" family reunion in Island Park, Idaho.

We stopped at Big Springs on the way to the cabin to see the huge fish.

Megan, Emily and Tyler

We met up with my family at a park in West Yellowstone, Montana for a pizza dinner.

Alex, Derek, Tyler, Megan, Olivia, Samuel and Emily

We had a chance to go to the Playmill Theater and see "The Music Man."

We love the Playmill!

We did a 6-mile round trip hike to Fairy Falls. It was a flat trail with beautiful falls at the end.  I love this picture of Tyler and Kyle holding Samuel's hands on the hike.

Some of the crazies (ahem, my children included), decided to go in the freezing cold water and go near the actual falls.

We ate a lunch of cheese, crackers, jerky etc. by little pond.  The squirrels were relentless is coming near for food.

A fox was on the trail right in front of us on the way back.

Our traditional stop at the Old Faithful Lodge to get Wilcoxson ice cream.

Cousin fun at the cabin.

Laura had made up cute signs for each room.

Laura made bracelets per request. (Olivia, Emily, Laura, Megan and my mom.)

Olivia, Emily, Megan and Olivia slept in the loft.

Tyler slept in a hide-a-bed by in the family room in the basement.

Cousins in the loft in the morning. (Megan, Emily, Caroly, Samuel, Alex, and Silas)

We found a "teepee" near the Norris Geyser Basin

We stopped for lunch at Sheepeater Picnic Grounds.

The kids loved climbing the rocks at the picnic grounds

Tyler made it around and to the top.

We stopped for more Wilcoxsons ice cream.

We were going to see the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, but it started to rain super hard, so we headed to West Yellowstone and then back to the cabin.

Enjoying a movie back at the cabin.

Breakfast

Emily, Megan and Tyler had to "entertain young children or songs or games you have learned or made yourself. Show that you know how to care for a protect a young child" for their Faith in God requirements.  They made up a play with some plastic noses we had.

More games

We had a fabulous reunion and it was so fun to be together.

July 2019

The kids played at a couple different parks in Bountiful.

We were able to meet up with our friends at Seven Peaks in Provo.

Emily had been a stinker during the day, so I took Tyler and Megan for a treat.  They got Hawaiian shaved ice.

Darrell and I were able to attend the Brigham City Temple while the kids were heading to Montana for swimming lessons.

I was able to redo my library while the kids were in Montana.  A friend of mine who isn't in the classroom right now is letting me borrow her classroom books.  I redid my genre cards and made sure all of the books were labeled.

I purchased books from several Deseret Industries throughout the summer.  One of the cool discoveries is that one of my former students, Kristina Moore, who used to teach at Eisenhower Jr. High, had donated these books and I luckily bought them.  Such a small world.

The school had a few activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong (the school's namesake) landing on the moon.  Emily had been throwing a fit earlier in the day, so she missed out again.

The kids played at a random park--we get tired of the same old thing.

We went to see Days of '47 floats.

Megan, Emily and Tyler with popsicles on the front porch

We went to see Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" at the Hale Centre Theatre.  I won 4 tickets in a Teacher Appreciation drawing, so we only had to buy one child's ticket.

We did a few fireworks on the 24th of July

24th of July popsicles

We went to see a matinee showing of "Toy Story 4" on Pioneer Day.  Creative Emily came home and created her own "Forky."

Tyler started tackle football conditioning and practice.

Camping 2019

We loved our annual camping trip.  South Willow Canyon is a beautiful place to camp.

The kids and I went up a day earlier than Darrell since he had to work.  The kids helped me set up the tent before they explored the area around the campsite.

Burgers and s'mores for dinner

Several dear walked so close to our campsite

Tyler was our pyro-boy

We had little cereals for breakfast.

It started to rain and we headed down the mountain to Tooele.  The kids' shoes were soaking wet from exploring the campground the night before, so we stopped at a laundromat to use the dryer.

It rained and rained and rained in Tooele.  We ended up eating lunch--Lunchables--in the van.

We headed back up the mountain and it pretty much quit raining the rest of the day.

We went for a "hike."

The kids LOVED playing in hideouts they created.

We had hot dogs and s'mores for dinner.  Darrell came up later than night to join us.

The girls made a little campfire for Steel, the stuffed horse.

Good morning!  Unfortunately it rained during the night.  Water got in the tent and we had soaked mats, sleeping bags and a suitcase.

Pancakes for breakfast.

After taking the tent (not so fun to do when it's super wet), we got lunch--string cheese, jerky and crackers.

Another great camping trip. (Emily, Tyler, Megan and me)
