Tyler was on a great Jr. Jazz team and learned a lot.

Darrell, Tyler and I were able to go do baptisms for the dead at the Jordan River Temple.  Darrell was able to baptize both me and Tyler.  We did some family names and it was pretty awesome.

Emily planned and carried out her 2nd Super Bowl Party.  We didn't watch the game, but we had fun partying.

 

We had lil' smokies, curly fries, chips and salsa, a veggie tray and cantaloupe.

We received a lot of snow and had an unprecendented 2-hour delay to school.  The parents could determine how they felt about sending their kids to school, but the teachers and staff were expected to show up.  When school started at 10:35 a.m. I only had 6 students in my class.  The whole 5th grade only had 27 students.  We split up time that the teachers took  all of the students in 5th grade.  I had them watch a movie "Aladdin" in my classroom.

Only 120 students showed up for the whole school.  All he kids ate lunch together and had lunch "recess" together.

 

My 3 were able to eat lunch together--so fun.

And the teachers all ate lunch at the same time too.

Crazy hair day.  Megan and Tyler had JoJo bows and Emily had pony tails with 2 emoji pillows.

 

 

Tyler was Top Eagle of his class.

Valentine's Day was on a a compensatory day for SEPs, so the kids had pajama day and Valentine's parties the day before.

We had our traditional In 'N' Out Valentine's meal the day before Valentines.

On Valentine's Day we had Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast.

We had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner that night.

Besides being on two Jr. Jazz teams, Tyler also had church ball.

Darrell had to work on Presidents Day, but the kids and I went to a Utah Grizzlies hockey game.

My parents came down to watch Tyler's church ball and Jr. Jazz games.  The kids enjoyed the swimming pool at their hotel the night before.

We always appreciate my parents' efforts to attend the kids' special events.

   

Tyler received 2 ticket vouchers to a Utah Jazz game.  He and I went to the Jazz/Celtics game.  We "coincidentally" signed up for tickets right next to his friend Bennett. It was so fun for them to enjoy the game together.

My parents were able to be present when Tyler received the Aaronic Priesthood and was ordained to a deacon. My dad was able to participate in the ordination.

The kids and I went to Vivint Smart Home Arena for Jr. Jazz night.  The kids got an autograph and pictrue with Emmanuel Mudiay, a Utah Jazz player.  We were also able to go down on the court and get pictures.

Emily brought her Build A Bear Jazz shirt.  She's also sporting Tyler's Jazz beanie.

Emily was Top Eagle at school.

We had a free pass to the West Valley City Fitness Center.  Tyler played basketball and the girls went swimming.  I walked the track.

The kids and I went back to the Vivint Smart Home Arena for a Jr. Jazz Party.  The kids were able to meet Thurl Bailey and get his autograph.  Tyler asked if he was Goliath in the Liken The Scriptures videos.  Thurl said yes and sang a little part of the song.

We watched the Salt Lake City Stars play the Stockton Kings.  (They are G-League teams that feed into the NBA).  The kids were able to get autographs from some of the players afterwards, including Kyle Collinsworth who used to play for BYU.

  

 

 

Tyler is on the school's Lego League.  They had the competition at a local high school.

The girls were able to participate in the Ski Utah program.  We picked up their skis the night before at a ski shop.
