Megan wanted me to take a picture of her drawing.
The kids got money from Darrell's grandma, Grandma Nellie, for Christmas and they were FINALLY able to go to the store and spend it. Megan chose these 2 Monster High girls.
Emily bought this cute little bunk bed with twin dolls. (And Tyler bought a Spiderman Lego set, but I apparently never got a picture of it.)

Emily and Megan had to come with me. Tyler's teacher (who has 4-year old twins too) was nice enough to get out paper, markers and stickers for them. Megan must have been wondering around the room when I took this picture of Emily.

We had a chance to attend another Grizzlies hockey game.

I love that my kids are able to play kid games now. Tyler got Trouble for Christmas, and it is one of the games I had growing up. (It's way better than Candyland and Chutes and Ladders, although the kids still like those games.) The kids can also play Go Fish, Crazy Eights and Old Maid so it's been fun to mix things up and play together as a family.
It was nice enough to get out and enjoy the back yard. I'm really trying to get them to learn how to pump on their own and they were getting the hang of it. (Notice Megan didn't have a dress or skirt on that particular day. That was an anomaly because she's worn a skirt or dress every day for MONTHS.)

Tyler finally joined the "lost tooth" club. Once he discovered his tooth was loose, I had to get one last smile with all those cute baby teeth.
First lost tooth. He had a loose tooth for quite a few days, then one day he was eating a muffin at breakfast and it "got caught" in it. Good thing he didn't eat it or swallow it!
He lost the 2nd one 3 days later at school.
We went ice skating at the Olympic Oval for Young Women one night. All of the pictures were blurry as I tried to take pictures with my phone as they skated by, so this one is just a representation of the fun activity we had.
The girls enjoy going to story time at the library. We have been a few times to the bilingual one. They sing and read stories in English and Spanish. It's pretty fun.

The kids and I went to a volleyball game at the junior high to watch one of the Young Women play. Here's Emily enjoying going up and down the stairs.
I had the chance to attend a "Star Raising" party at the Make-A-Wish foundation. Sweet Ari was granted a wish through the foundation and then was invited back to add her star to the hundreds of others. What a wonderful foundation and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Ari's life too.

January
These are a few of the things we did in January.
Megan drew a Mommy horse (under the sun) and 5 girl ponies. (The smallest is a cheerleader.)
Emily drew Darrell and me in a house. "There's a fire(place) by the door. There is water in the grass. There is also a sun, sky and two trees."
Darrell's parents gave the girls twin baby dolls along time ago. The girls now call them Alex and Carolyn (after Derek and Tansy's twins.)

We've had some really nice weather for January. The kids got out and played outside one day.

For Young Women (I'm now 1st counselor in the YW and work with the Mia Maids), we had a sugar cookie bake off against the Beehives and the Laurels.

For a combined Young Men and Young Women activity we cleaned all of the tables and chairs stored in the gym.
We took advantage of free tickets to a Grizzlies hockey game.
My parents went to church with us and hung out with us for the day on the Sunday before they entered the MTC (Missionary Training Center.) (Grandpa, Megan, Grandma, Tyler and Emily)
We went for a walk to the park. (Emily, my mom and Tyler)

We met up with my mom and dad at the end of their 5-day MTC stay at the BYU Men's Volleyball game. It was great to spend one last evening with them before they head off to Texas for 6 months. We will miss them, but I'm so proud of them for their decision to serve the Lord. I can't wait to hear all about the things they will be doing.
Tyler LOVED the volleyball matches. He kept us "up to date" on every point they made and how many more points BYU needed to win each match. It was a lot of fun.
We went to the library for a "Dazzle Dogzz" show for Family Home Evening.
Tyler got to help out at the dog show.
The girls enjoyed a puppet show at the library.
The girls LOVED "I Can Cook" day at preschool. They got to wear chef hats and make ice cream and pizza. They came home and HAD to put on their aprons to complete the look.
We're staying busy. I help out in Tyler's class one day a week. I listen to kids read or have them pass off their math flashcards. I've also been going in another day of the week to teach the 5 Junior Achievement lessons in his class. The school choir is going again. We are learning songs from around the world. We have less students in the choir this time because we encouraged only the "ones who really want to be there" to continue. I am taking another online class to keep my teaching certificate valid. The one I'm doing now is about using iPads in the classroom. I really enjoy the things I learn in my on-line classes.
