California Trip December 2021

On December 28 we headed to California.  It was snowy through most of  Utah.

Megan and Emily were excited to receive these Barbies.  Carol's friend had collected them and Carol brought 4 of them home when they cleaned out her house.

We spent some time at Darrell's sister- Brenda's- house and got to meet Jax and Ginger.

The puppies were really playful.

We enjoyed playing games with Brenda.

More puppy time

Carol treated us to dinner at Hof's Hut.  So yummy!

We spent on rainy day watching bowl games, playing games and doing a new puzzle.

We ran through a rain storm to get to the movie theater to watch "Sing 2."

I had to get a picture to remember all of Carol's Christmas stuffed animals that she puts in front of the TV.

It cleared up on December 31.  We drove to the top of Signal Hill in Long Beach and could see a long ways off in so many directions.

The girls were super excited to once again go to the American Girl Store.  They spent their Christmas money.

Megan brought in Kira.

Emily brought in Kendall.

The Apple Store

We found a park with a basketball court to have our picnic lunch and so Tyler could get some playing in.

We went to Pasadena to pick up our tickets, only to find out they were sent digitally, but they must have gone to my junk mail.  We went over by the Rose Bowl to watch them assemble some of the floats.

The University of Utah and Ohio State were the 2 teams to make it to the Rose Bowl game.  The whole area by the stadium was covered with Ute fans.  Yuck!  Here you can see who our allegiance is too.

Boo to the Utes!

Happy New Year!  We counted down at 9:00 so we could get to bed early. (Megan, Emily, Carol, Darrell and Tyler)

Celebrating with poppers out in the street.

We headed to Pasadena around 6:30 a.m. on New Years Day.  We parked in a parking garage and walked over to our stadium seating. It was a little chilly and we got hot chocolate, but at least it was nice and sunny!

Our view from the top.

Some highlights from the 2022 Rose Parade!

A float being towed by a tow truck.

All of the tow trucks that weren't needed at the end of the parade.

We headed out right after the parade to St. George, Utah to spend the night before heading home the next day.  We listened to the Rose Bowl game on way north. Utah lost.  Yay!
