Life with "Wee Ones": June 2022

The last day of school was June 2.

First day (on top) vs. last day of school-6th grade for Megan, 8th grade for Tyler and 6th grade for Emily.

The girls have been so blessed to have had good teachers every year at Neil Armstrong Academy. I'm a little bit in denial that they won't be at the school with me anymore.

The girls turned 12 on June 4. We got donuts at a new place-Beardall's Bakery-and they were yummy.

And then went to a Trampoline park

Emily helped decorate her Minecraft pig and carrot cakes.

Then we went to Chili's for dinner.

You've come a long ways babies and sure do love you both!

This is the 2nd year we helped with the Memorial Day clean up at the cemetery. We didn't do it as long this time because the kids had summer band in the morning and Tyler had basketball in the afternoon, but it was fun to help out.

Our mortgage company had a client bbq. The girls got their faces (and arms) painted.

Tyler was playing basketball with our neighbor over at the rec center and came home with a jammed pinky.

We had a chance to get together with some of Darrell's long-time friends from Tooele. It was good to visit with them.

Emily started ukulele lessons.

Our peas popped up in our garden, but our carrots didn't. We replanted for a Family Home Evening and enjoyed popsicles on the porch.

Tyler's basketball team participated in a huge tournament at the Mountain America Expo Center. There were 30 courts and over 270 teams.

I decided to cut my hair and donate it. I got 12-14 inches cut off.

Emily and Megan got theirs cut a little bit and Megan had her "money piece" died back to her natural color.

The Granite Youth Jr. and Sr. Orhestras played a concert at the Loveland Living Aquarium. They got free tickets for themselves and for family members so we invited the "Little Leos" to come. It turned out that Tyler had a basketball tournament game around the same time and missed playing in the Junior Orchestra, but we saw the Senior Orchestra play under the "claw."

Then we enjoyed a lovely time at the aquarium with cousins.

Then we went to a nearby park for a picnic dinner. It was pretty windy.

My 5th grade team met up at Color Me Mine for a fun painting afternoon.

Emily participated in the library's O.W.L. camp. She was sorted into Ravenclaw and did some fun STEM/Harry Potter activities.

It had been a long time since we had gone to a park on a Sunday evening. We found a new park with a basketball hoop for Tyler.

I met up with 2 of my original 5th grade teacher friends at a park. It was so good to visit with Krysta Stenzel and Mysti Hedquist. Krysta's cute family will be moving back to Iowa. We will miss our get togethers.

The people who bought our old house have added a covered porch, taken out the garden boxes and put gravel down to park their RV on.

The kids participated in Granite's summer band program. Tyler was in the Jr. High symphony orchestra and Emily and Megan participated in IBOC (Introductory Band and Orchestra Camp.) Tyler played the trumpet. Emily tried percussion and Megan did violin. The kids weren't super excited about giving up some of the summer vacation to band camp, but it was good for them and it gave me some free time without whiney kids asking what they could do because they were bored. Luckily the school district provided transportation from the junior highs to Cottonwood High School. Here is the last day of catching the bus. (Excuse the buggy windshield).
