February 2022

We watched the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. Emily pulled out my beret and cowbell from the Salt Lake 2002 Olympics.  I can't believe it's been 20 years since those Olympics.

Tyler played on our ward's Young Men basketball team.  Darrell was one of the refs.

We tried getting reservations for the kids to do baptisms for the dead and could only find a time in February in Vernal, Utah, so we took the opportunity and went for it.

It was the first time for Emily and Megan to do baptisms and only the second time for Tyler since COVID shut down the temples 2 years ago.  We were the only ones in the small baptistry.  It was cool for Darrell to baptize and confirm and for the kids to be witnesses. (Emily, Tyler and Megan)

We ate at The Sloppy Pig afterwards.  It was good barbecue-type food.

Tyler's basketball team The A-Train had several games at a Lutheran Church.

The kids planned our annual Super Bowl party.  Tyler's signs

We had little smokies, potatoes, veggies, 7-layer dip and chips and watermelon.

The Porgs came as well.

We had a helmet decorating contest, made Valentine's, played Star Wars trivia and "Would You Rather."  We finished with a represie game of throwing socks into goal posts (through arms) on the stairs.

We had sundaes for dessert.

Emily got up early and made pancakes on Valentine's Day.

We've had Emily's bed for almost 10 years.  Megan's broke several years ago and we got her another bed.  I guess it was time for Emily's to break too.

Megan gave our Family Home Evening lesson using these Squishmallows.

The kids had a sleepover in Emily's room since I had a teacher work day, and they got to stay home.

Emily did a great job helping put her IKEA bed together.

Megan had ALL of the Squishmallows on her bed.

Tyler made cookies for a service project.  Emily made sure he and the the Porg were decked out in matching aprons.

Darrell took a work trip to Las Vegas.  Emily put Hello Kitty Mermaid on my bed in case I got "lonely."

Emily planned Family Home Evening.  I made play dough and then we created Book of Mormon stories with the play dough. It was a fun activity.
